Overview

Farmendon is a splendid, well-proportioned house which sits in the heart of Gunnerside, yet is a peaceful haven from the bustle of the village.

Charmingly decorated, the house is refurbished and has masses of character. The house is remarkably spacious and is beautifully furnished with treasured antiques, lovingly polished by the owners!

The large, south-facing lawned rear garden, backing on to the Methodist Chapel, has a suntrap patio and stunning views of the hills, whilst remaining extremely private. Really comfortable, with central heating to keep you warm on even the chilliest evenings, Farmendon has already proved extremely popular with families, couples and dogs!

Whether you are here to ramble over the nearby hills, or to relax in the peace of the Dales, Farmendon is the perfect home to come to for a marvellous Yorkshire holiday!

We had promised ourselves a lazy, lazy holiday and that promise was happily fulfilled! Hope to come again when the “arthritic knees” have been replaced.Peggy and Ken, Notts

Testimonials

As always, we have had a wonderful week walking our favourite walks. This would have been my husband, Tony, and my Golden Wedding, but sadly he died 2 1/2 years ago. Hope to be back next year again.Betty Baines, Norfolk
Thank-you for allowing us to stay in your lovely cottage. We hope to return again to enjoy the wonderful scenery of the Dales. Our week here was just perfect!Barbara and Norman, Pembrokeshire
Comfy cottage, perfect position to explore Swaledale. Pub and eateries excellent, Friday fish and chips a must, relaxing time, we will be back!Andy Lesley, Worcs
Had a most enjoyable stay in your comfortable cottage. We toured extensively and had absolutely fantastic drives amid lovely scenery, good food and good beer everywhere. Liked reading about the area and its history. Garden was lovely for relaxing! Highly recommended.Irwin and Iris Lyttle, Northern Ireland
Having camped at Usha Gap as a child, this was my first return to the Dales and the first intro for the family. It has hardly changed! Still beautiful as ever and not as busy as I had feared (still a secret!). Loved the cottage and the library of literature on the area, also the Countryfile magazines a treat! Would not hesitate to recommend, and Cat Hole Cottages service 5*!Claire Hubball, Sutton Coldfield
