Welcome Back to Cat Hole Cottages!

So, the long-awaited date that so many businesses have been holding out for is finally here – we’re open for business again!

We’re so excited to be able to welcome guests to our cottages and beautiful local area once again, like many accommodation providers, we were unsure if we would be able to reopen this year at all, let alone in the midst of Summer! We’ve truly missed greeting lots of new visitors and some familiar faces too, so it’ll be wonderful to get back into action and see you all again.

Things may be slightly different for our guests visiting in the coming weeks, as businesses adjust to the reopening guidelines. Although things in the area aren’t quite ‘business as usual’ or back to life as we know it, there are still so many wonderful places to visit and things to do, all within the everchanging government lockdown restrictions and as always we aim to keep our cottages as clean and safe as possible for our guests.

While staying in one of our cottages, there are plenty of walks to enjoy straight from your doorstep across Swaledale. If you’re looking to head further afield, there are lots of gorgeous spots to wander around and visit. Why not head over to Richmond and wander the Easby Abbey loop or stroll along the river with a view of Richmond Castle. Head across into Wensleydale and hike up the glorious Pen Hill or have a lazy day by Redmire river – there truly are so many wonderful places to visit both safely and for free. The Yorkshire Dales offers such a great place to retreat to after all the stress and uncertainty of the last few months, and there are so many benefits of visiting us here. While many people are still unsure and anxious about heading out and about, the Dales has so many open spaces. There’s no need to worry about bumping into people in busy areas or being cramped for space, as you may be in lots of seaside towns this Summer.

Following recent government guidelines, lots of our local market town centres are starting to come alive again, with lots of small enterprises able to reopen and welcome customers into their shops. The likes of Leyburn, Hawes and Richmond have lots of independent shops for you to pop into if you’re looking to support local and treat yourself in the meantime!

Going forward, bookings are open again for all of our cottages so why not have a browse and book yourself a break for some respite after the last few months, and please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions. We can’t wait to see you all again soon!
