Hello! I’m Judith Dower and Cat Hole Cottages is my company.

My aim is to provide holidaymakers with a friendly, personal service that will give you a first-class quality cottage holiday.

I answer the phone myself and love to chat with you about what you want from your cottage, where you want to be and how I can give you the best possible value.

I was born and brought up at Heugh Farm near Gunnerside, so I know first-hand all the perfect spots to explore and the best places to eat and drink. And because I’m such a small, family agency, I can be highly flexible and have no restrictive booking policies.

I’ve got a tiny team of amazing housekeepers, who try their hardest to make sure our cottages are always sparkling and welcoming. I know how important it is for you to have a trouble-free holiday (nothing worse than the heating breaking down with snow outside), so I made sure I married someone with a multitude of building talents, Martin! And if he can’t fix it, then I’ve got a list of local, reliable tradespeople who will drop everything to come out to help me and my guests – real Swaledale friendliness!

My family has lived and worked in this unspoilt part of the Yorkshire Dales for many generations and for nearly 50 years ran the Cat Hole Inn at Keld.

The inn no longer exists – however Martin and I continue to welcome visitors to the Yorkshire Dales, keeping our family’s tradition of offering warm hospitality to visitors. We would love to extend that welcome to you.
