Overview

Arklehurst is a traditional stone built 18th century cottage offering exceptionally warm and cosy accommodation for up to 4 people.

Set in the tiny jewel of a village of Langthwaite, in Arkengarthdale, the cottage is furnished and equipped to the highest possible standard, with a welcoming coal stove for cool evenings. The modern dining kitchen, with quality pine dining table and chairs, has an old-fashioned original range as focal point, a wonderful reminder of the true history of the cottage. A lovely shower room provides an extra touch of luxury and many guests comment that our description and photos don’t do this wonderful cottage justice.

Come and see for yourself!

This was our 3rd stay at Arklehurst. We knew exactly what to expect. It’s perfect for us. We love the cottage, it’s warm and cosy with effective heating and lovely coal burning stove for chillier evenings. Walks straight from the door. Beautiful local area and very friendly locals – including in the pub and the hotel/bar up the road (all in walking distance).Mrs Hannah Fletcher

Testimonials

A perfect break away! It was our second visit to Arklehurst (and won’t be the last). The cottage was warm and cosy on our arrival and stayed that way throughout. The coal burning stove made the living room extra cosy. The cottage was equipped for our every need and with beautiful scenery and Dales walks right from the door. Our perfect getaway. The pub in Langthwaite is lovely too, as is the CB inn (bar, restaurant and hotel) which is a short walk away.Mrs Joanna Forster
Great location in Arkengarthdale. The Red Lion pub is 1 minute away and has a lovely atmosphere.Mr John Huges
Cosy and very comfortable cottage in a perfect location. The caretakers, Roger and Janet, were quick to resolve a problem with the shower. Also very helpful to my daughter when she wanted flowers delivered for my birthday!Mrs Carol Jarvis
The area was fabulous with lots of walks from the house.Mrs Patricia Allum-Smith
We were able to take our two terriers, the quarry tiled kitchen floor was easy to mop clean as it was needed as a reception area for taking off muddy boots, and holding the dogs before showering them, as we do when we are at home.
The weather was very cold ,the heating was adequate, but the best part being the Morso cast stove, plenty of kindling, and a well stocked coal house. Nights in by a glowing fire being a highlight. The old range, and historic artefacts hung on the ceiling beams further enhanced the authentic feel. The landline with honesty box was an unexpected bonus.Martin Tuxford
