East Calvert House is a gorgeous family cottage with fantastic south-facing views of Swaledale.

The cottage has all the conveniences of home, with a feel for luxurious comfort and dales character combined. The cottage is in a rural setting and south-facing, so is flooded with sunshine all day long, and the enclosed patio to the front is also sunny.

The living and dining rooms are spacious and ooze atmosphere, with traditional beamed and boarded ceilings and stone flagged floors. The living room has a 40″ smart TV and an open fire, all coal included.

The roomy main bedroom has a comfy kingsize bed and lovely views over the dale, as has the twin bedroom. The kitchen, bathroom and shower rooms are all newly fitted, making it easy to relax in luxury after a day’s rambling from the door. Note, PERSONAL TOWELS ARE NOT INCLUDED.

You’ll love to sit in the garden with a glass of wine and admire the beauty of Swaledale spread out as far as the eye can see. A perfect holiday in beautiful Swaledale! Week bookings run from FRIDAY to FRIDAY.

Week bookings run from FRIDAY TO FRIDAY (reserve online or telephone 01748 886366). To see price and availability, click the “Book Now” button (you have not committed yourself to a booking by doing so).

A 2 person (one bedroom) discount of 10% is available on week bookings (sorry, not during peak periods). The discount cannot be booked online, so please contact Judith to arrange it.

Short breaks are available (see FAQs). Please contact us to confirm a short break booking, or for a price for a different number of nights.

You can pay by cheque, BACS or by card. A deposit of £90 is due on booking, including a £10 booking fee. Please note, deposit and booking fee are non-refundable in the event of cancellation.

You can send a cheque, payable to Cat Hole Cottages Ltd, to Cat Hole House, Thwaite, Richmond DL11 6DR, with the name of the cottage and holiday date on back of chq; pay by BACS, sort code 09-01-28, acc 37806627, ref initials or first word of cottage and holiday date; ring to pay by card, 01748 886366. A lovely cottage in a stunning location – ‘Far from the Madding Crowd’ – just perfect! We had a lovely relaxing week here, lazy mornings and afternoon walks – so nice not to have the days dictated by an alarm clock! East Calvert House is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in (if not the best) on our numerous trips to Swaledale.
