Overview

Set opposite the bubbling beck, which flows into the River Swale, this lovely cottage in Gunnerside is a charming, cosy place to which to retreat after a day’s energetic walking in the gorgeous countryside nearby.

With open stonework, exposed roof trusses and beautiful reclaimed pine floorboards, you can breakfast with the morning sun pouring into the unexpectedly spacious upstairs living/dining room, or relax outside on long summer evenings in the small front garden, watching the swallows wheeling above.

A delightful bathroom in which to relax, and tastefully decorated double bedroom downstairs mean you can make the most of the views overlooking the village and beck from the window seat upstairs. A multi-fuel stove completes the idyllic picture!

Cottage great to return to after days out, hot water & shower super. The cottage is in a great location and has everything needed. The cottage is definitely recommendable!Kilian and Stefanie, Munich

Testimonials

A most enjoyable stay, comfortable and relaxing. This is truly “God’s own country” and England’s “green and pleasant land”. We will definitely be back! The McKillops, Switzerland
Delightful, well-equipped cottage, thanks. We were blessed with warm, sunny weather and enjoyed walking around this beautiful area.Ray and Evelyn Brown, Linlithgow
Very comfortable stay in a beautiful dale, thank-you.Richard and Jo, Northamptonshire
We have had a lovely weekend away from all the ‘pre-Christmas’ madness!! So quiet and peaceful, warm and cosy! A lovely walk to Muker – upland route there, mulled wine in the Farmer’s Arms and back by the river – very nice indeed. We shall definitely be back. Thank-you.April and Steve, York
We enjoyed our stay in peaceful Gunnerside. The King’s Head has very good pub food – for a special treat, try the Punch Bowl at Low Row. Lovely little cottage, good idea to have the living area upstairs.Ceinwen Powell, Kidderminster
